I learned WordPress from this book. It was easy and fun. I’ve read hundreds of technical books and this was one of the best books. This one is staying on my shelf.

This book is totally useless to me. It was not made clear in the advertising that this book applies to Windows users only. I have Macintosh equipment.

For a technical manual on a subject not familure to me the book was well written, constantly giving sources of other good information. This was the first time I had used the WordPress GNU software, and the book was an excellent tool to have by my side.

I found this book very helpful to develop my WordPress 2 Blog. It gives many instructions on how to customize the Blog.

Sorry folks, but skip this one (and many of VQGs, fyi).

My Beef:

1. leaves out explanations of “why” Wordpress works the way it does. (example: why doesn’t Safari display the editor toolbar?)

2. When things get complicated, instead of explaining how Wordress works, the authors suggest that you “leave it alone.” (Wow, thanks for the help!)

3. Too many simple things are detailed, for example directions on how to log onto a blog. (We can trim the fat in places like this, and add more details to say, tweaking a theme).

My suggestion: read the online documentation and participate in online discussions until a better read comes out. This one wasted $24 that I could of spent on beer.
